What is “FEMINISM” ? Why is it important ?Feminism is social and political movement belief that women and men should have equal rights, opportunities and respect in society. Basically “EQUALITY” in both the gender. Feminism isn’t about giving women more power than men, it’s about removing unfair disadvantages and dismantling gender based restrictions.IMPORTANCE OF FEMINISM :-Globally approximately 68-70% of the gender gap is closed. The major gaps are in economic participations, education, health, and political empowerment. Women are underrated in politics and leadership roles. In most of the countries, women have fewer legal rights than men and in some of these countries owning property, working or having jobs, accessing finance is still restricted. According to Global Gender Gaps Index 2025, by the World Economic Forum, India ranked 131st out of 148 countries. Down from 129th in 2024, with a gender parity score of 64.1% . This ranking underscores the deep rooted patriarchy, traditions, systems, and beliefs that continue to oppress women. The demolition of such practices are necessary to the elevation of girls value in society. In INDIA, Government based survey called National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5), in this report the key concern remains, low workforce participation and persistence spousal violence. And multiple domestic abuses cases are still not reported. That’s the reason why we need FEMINISM.Core Point :-Feminism movements advocate for equal opportunities and positions regardless of gender. When all genders have equal opportunities societies thrive socially, economically and culturally. Feminism raises awareness about gender-based violence, harassment, and discrimination. Conclusion :- This is all about questioning rigid ideas about what men and women should do, allowing individuals to define their own path. Feminism benefits everyone not just women or individual. ~Mansvi Chaudhari
